Aruna Natarajan

Aruna is President, Growth & Clients at Essence North America. She is responsible for the agency’s overall growth strategy across existing client relationships and new business opportunities.

Aruna is a marketing communications professional with a bias for action. With more than 20 years of client leadership experience in local, regional and global roles, Aruna brings a rare diversity of experience and perspective.

After starting her media career in India, Aruna spent 4 years in China leading the Ford client relationship for MindShare, and then went on to build and lead the OMD APAC regional team in Singapore over the next 7 years. In late 2014, she was promoted to a global client leadership position in New York. There she spent 6-plus years leading key global client relationships for OMD & Omnicom including Hasbro, Luxottica, Tapestry, Intel, Estee Lauder Companies and Visa. Aruna was also part of the Omnicom Global Client Leadership Council responsible for agency best practices with regards to new operating models & remuneration structures.

Aruna is the recipient of a WPP Atticus Award in 2005 for her work on Ford about the “sandwich generation” in China.

Born in Singapore and raised in Malaysia and India – and having lived and worked in diverse cultures across the world – Aruna exhibits ease and adaptability to every new challenge. After 6 years in Manhattan, Aruna has recently embraced suburbia with her move to Ridgefield, Conn. She lives with her husband, 2 kids and a Puerto Rican rescue hound.
