Essence wins at The Drum Awards for Social Media
Essence today won ‘Best Integrated Campaign’ at The Drum Awards for Social Media 2021.
The winning campaign, ‘For the Fans’, celebrated the launch of the IOC's new 'Tokyo 2020 Fanzone' and spanned display, social, and video.
The win was all the more impressive because the campaign was devised and delivered in its entirety, by the Essence Creative and Media teams.
The campaign smashed all expectations, reaching a younger audience and driving 45% more signups than the target.
Across the broader audience results included:
31% higher than forecast
148% higher than the target
153% higher than the target
222% higher than the target
The IOC's FanZone, was an interactive gamification experience available on desktop and mobile. The ambition was to engage and unite fans around the world leading up to and throughout the Summer Olympic Games.
