Essence's president and global client partner for Google Dave Marsey has been included in OUTstanding, a list of the world's top 100 LGBTQ+ executive role models published by INvolve and Yahoo Finance.

Marsey, who is a member of Essence's global executive committee and oversees the agency's global relationship with Google, first joined Essence in 2017. Since that time he has been instrumental in driving the growth of the agency's largest client relationship and advancing inclusion and diversity at Essence.

Writing about Marsey, the judges for OUTstanding noted that 'In addition to serving as President, Global Google Client Lead, Dave is Executive Sponsor for [email protected], and ally to [email protected], and Executive Sponsor for Essence's participation in WPP’s Safe Room for Black Women leadership pilot. He’s a sought-after mentor from colleagues globally for his ability to unlock individual strengths.'

Marsey appears on the list alongside 99 other LGBT+ business heroes including Land o' Lakes President and CEO Beth Ford, Google's Director of Corporate Engineering Suzanne Timmons, Sainsbury's Chief Technology Officer for Retail John Elliott, JP Morgan Chase's Chief Data Officer Ken Janssens, Adidas's Alim Dhanji, and Mastercard's Shamina Singh.

Marsey is the fourth Essential to be recognized in INvolve's Role Model lists in 2020. Sherifa Benjamin and Deolu (Deborah) King were recognized as EMpower Ethnic Minority future leaders in June. Kristin Parris was recognized as a future leader in HERoes, a list of women role models announced in September.
